You listen to a single conversation between a man and a woman and answer two items that follow it — item 21 (main idea) and item 22 (matching content). The structure often has one speaker raising a problem while the other pinpoints the cause and proposes a solution. While items 17–20 were a single speaker's monologue, from item 21 on you listen to a back-and-forth conversation and must solve two items from one set, which adds to the load. The points per item are still the same 2 points, but the burden of tracking who said what makes this feel a notch harder than the earlier section. The conversation structure itself is fairly fixed, though — once you know in advance that one side raises a discomfort or problem and the other analyzes the cause and proposes an alternative, listening becomes much easier. Item 21 asks you to find the conclusion in what the speaker named in the question (usually the one who sums up their opinion last) says, while item 22 is a matching-content item whose options rephrase a sentence actually said somewhere in the conversation. Since this is a set item, reading both items' options together before the conversation starts tells you in advance what to listen for. This is where the goal of "secure at least item 21" comes from — because a set item is structured so that missing one question doesn't stop you from solving the other as long as you listen to the conversation accurately, locking down just the main idea protects half the set's score. Because the two speakers' lines alternate, the key to this type is not confusing who said what. In particular, the pattern of one side raising the problem first and the other summing up afterward repeats often, so getting used to this order reduces mistakes about which speaker said what.
